The Flag for the Fallen was designed by Peace Officers for the families of Peace Officers. After the tragic death of one our Nation’s Peace Officers, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) extends our deepest sympathy to the family of the fallen Officer. In order to show our appreciation for their service NAPO presents the family with a Flag for the Fallen.
The flag displays the fallen Officers’ name, badge number, and his/her department. Families of all Officers killed in the line of duty from any law enforcement agency in the United States of America are eligible to receive a flag.
The survivor of the slain Officer is eligible to receive a flag from NAPO after meeting the requirements set forth by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF).
Once the NLEOMF confirms that the Officer’s name will be placed on the National Law Enforcement
Officers Memorial, NAPO ensures that a flag is made and sent to the Officer’s spouse or parent, accompanied with a letter from the President of NAPO.
