Alexandria, VA – The National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) has consistently stood in support of the U.S. Capitol Police Officers and Metropolitan Police Department Officers who were outnumbered, insufficiently equipped, and subjected to violence as they did their duty to protect the U.S. Capitol and those working within it on January 6, 2021. We continue to condemn the acts of violence against officers that day and strongly believe that those who commit violent assaults on law enforcement officers should not benefit from a pardon. We are disappointed with the President’s actions as any person who assaults an officer should face serious punishment
